Scheme language standardization process
Call-with-port not closing the port in exceptional situations is a shame. As it is, the only thing you can do to close ports in exceptional situations is to use dynamic-wind. Nasty. Why allow current-input-port to be a binary port? I would not do that. Likewise I don't see why read-u8 and friends would default to a textual port. Otherwise things seem fine to me.
